A Tuesday Lunch

One of the absolutely best things about
my new career is
going out to lunch.
Luke and I lunched with the charming Carla
at her fancy yacht club.

We watched this boat dock,
very impressive.

On our way home from
lunch I drove thru Starbucks.

Super handy to have a drive thru
when your kid is passed out from
lunch in the backseat.
Loved my barista who came to
the window to tell me what a good
choice of beverage I made…Yummy toffee nut latte.

Monday Mall Madness

Monday
we had to
make a run to the
gulp
mall.
At least we enjoyed Chick-fli-a for lunch.

Seriously, I hate the mall.
Can we discuss the screaming and
Poorly behaved children at the mall
with parents who clearly gave up a long long time ago?

Play Little Luke

A super fun
piano from
Cedo and Tata.

Do you spy
Luke’s little head?

Last Birthday Candle

Last week
I put a candle in his
birthday dinner too.

Goodnight Kisses

You know the book, Goodnight Moon?
And the page where the wife turns the light
back on when all the animals in her bedroom say goodnight to her?
(She has her nightcap on and is deep under the covers.)
Three nights running
Luke has given that lady a kiss.
Brings that sweet page right up to his lips
and gives the zoo keeper’s wife a kiss.
Yes, adorable as it sounds.

Local Swing

Blah blah blah
we were in need of a quick afternoon
excursion pre-afternoon nap.
I thought park, swing, slide…
I’m rocking this mom thing!
A sort of close by park
with what I found out to be
the silliest swings of all time.
MomWorryFactor:
80% slide right out of silly swing
20% pinch precious fingers
He loved it.

Birthday Breakfast

Luke’s birthday
corn and leek quiche.
I’m going to try and put a candle in
everything
today.

Push People!

A few weeks ago
Lindy and Papa Joe
brought this gem out.
Can’t you see the good times ahead?

Happy Birthday Luke

You are sunshine on my heart.

And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:10-14

Red Tradition?

Chick Flick Cherry Red
to be specific.
Tomorrow is Luke’s very first birthday
and in honor of his birthday
I did tonight what I did
this time last year…
painted my toes and fingers
chick flick cherry red.
That’s right.
10 months pregnant
and
I gave myself a
manicure and pedicure.
Some people nest before giving birth…
I groomed.

P.S. I don’t think I’ll do this next year. A nice bubble bath with a glass of wine will do just fine.

Red Carpet

If Luke were on the red carpet
and those poor unfulfilled people had to ask
“Who are you wearing?”
(the stupidest question in the world!)
Luke would have to say,
“Hotty Totty!”

Cooler Carnival Ride

Sunday evening entertainment.

Sunday Lunch

Sunday afternoon we enjoyed lunch at the Cheesecake Factory with Faris’ family and relatives from Honduras.
I l.o.v.e. the Cheesecake Factory.
Yum.
It was Luke’s first restaurant meal.
He loved it.

Me on the other hand…
I was having internal convulsions
and in my head screaming
get
that
non-organic
food
o u t o f m y b a b a y’ s m o u t h ! !
I think I’m still upset about this
food invasion.
I can tell I’m going to have to
give myself pep talks.

P.S. Jenni & Camille, I kept thinking about our dinner there years ago!

Change

A sign of the changing seasons…
This table used to be filled with
juicy peaches
sweet nectarines
delicious plums
and other summer fruit.
Now we have
tasty apples,
our family favorites
Empire and Honey Crisp
to boot.

Brisk Walks

Our mornings are chilly now.
So on our morning walks
we need more than shorts and a tee.
This morning we even had a light blanket.
