Wings

A few weeks ago Luke
looked at me and said,
“Mama, wings for me?”
And he kept asking.
So I said yes, I’ll get you wings.
I’ll figure out how to make some
or I’ll buy you some.
I ordered out for wings.
Do you know how hard it is
to find non-fairy wings?
Hard.
I present Butterfly Wings!

But he won’t put them on.
Not yet.
And now I’m wondering why
I didn’t just cut some wings out
of paper and tape them on?!
